Aljibes Árabes
The “Aljibes Árabes” were commissioned by Jairán in the eleventh century, to supply water to the population. Only retain 3 interconnected vessels which are formed by a room with Roman columns covered with an octagonal dome and supported by Caliphate arches.

Muralla de Jayrán
Hayrán´s Wall was built in the 11th century by king Hayrán, the first governor of the Taifa (a Moorish dominion) of Almeria. It runs down from the Alcazaba through the Hoya Gorge and ends at the Cerro de San Cristóbal hill, the site of a beautiful image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus dating from 1930.

Alcazaba de Almeria
The Alcazaba of Almería can be seen from any part of the city and it is the biggest of the citadels built by the Arabs in Spain.
Its construction was begun in 955 by Abderramán III and finished by Hayrán, “taifa” king of Almeria, in the XI century. After the Christian conquest it was reformed by the Catholic Monarchs and Carlos I.
It has three walled enclosures. One of the three was built by the Catholic Monarchs. It was a royal residence and today stands at the foot of Al-Mutasin palace with all its rooms, its mosque, converted into a church since the end of the XV century, and its baths. It has only one entrance, made almost invisible by the enormous walls as well as large rooms with vaulted ceilings and gothic doors.
From the top of the castle walls we can enjoy marvellous views of the city and the port.

Catedral de Almeria
Unique example of its kind, as it is a 17th century cathedral-fortress, in Gothic style with Renaissance façades, built for praying and also to defend the city against Berber pirate attacks.

Cargaredo de Mineral
The “Cargadero de Mineral”, popularly known as “Cable Inglés”, is situated at “Muelle de Levante”, in the terminal of a branch of the railway.
It is an example and a masterpiece of architecture of the iron in the early twentieth century. Its construction comes as a result of the need for export by sea iron and steel production in the province.
Currently it can only be considered from the outside because the interior is not yet rehabilitated
